Time to Be Free

Free Camp – have you heard? It continues to grow, and we are so excited to see the camps across the nation affect change in their communities this summer!
This event was started over 20 years ago at Christian Heritage Church in Amarillo, TX. The church wanted to create a free experience that “leveled the playing field.” At Free Camp, all barriers are broken down. All activities are designed to allow participation regardless of a child’s income, physical abilities, gender, race, etc. For just a few days, these children are allowed to be truly free of the stereotypes surrounding them in today’s society.

In less than two weeks, we head out to Phoenix, Ariz. for a new Free Camp plant. Though this area has seen a Free Camp before, the church we  are working with is new to the concept of Free Camp.

As Free Camp happens for the first time on one side of the country, another camp will be taking place on the other side – over 2000 miles away! This summer, God will be making change happen in the lives of many people in Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, and Virginia.

God birthed this idea in one person’s heart, and it just keeps growing! It’s been awesome to watch God expand Free Camp into a national and multi-site event.  We invite anyone who wants to see the excitement for themselves to visit a Free Camp near them! But watch out – because God moves in the hearts of teens and adults just as much as kids at Free Camp!

Camp Dates & Locations:

July 7 – 8 Greenville, NC

July 8 – 9 Mesa, AZ

July 27 – Aug 1 Amarillo, TX

Aug 3 – 6 Petersburg, VA
