Memorial Day Reflections

May 31st, 2010 · 2 Comments

After making a statement about not really realizing what Memorial Day was about (oh, I ‘knew’ but it was just a thought, not a conviction), there were a lot of folks that approached me and spoke about the fact they did not really know either. It appears that most see it as the first of […]

Rolling Thunder 2010

May 30th, 2010 · No Comments

4:00 AM – really?! – a rider’s meeting and by 6:30 AM, we are on the Pentagon parking lot.  Before noon, there was an estimated 900,000 people waiting for the ride to the Wall.  It was extremely hot with no shade, but it was worth the price to pay.  This ride is for the approximate […]

It is such a sad little cemetery. […]

May 25th, 2010 · 1 Comment

I am wearing an armband given to me that reads “BETRAYED” “POW * MIA” and is black in color. Then I was given the duty of reading the following after I had led the prayer for the day, “THOSE THAT ARE FORGOTTEN” No special medals or big parades No Presidential handshakes or public charades Side […]

May 24th, 2010 · 4 Comments

A beautiful day in eastern Louisiana and western Mississippi – only 221 miles today – oh, did I say it was over 100 degrees and HUMID! Started the day with the statement of a recruiter in the 1706, The same heat that stirs them up to love, spurs them on to battle. I led the […]
